Ray McKenzie enrolled in the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Matson and Hammond mentoring program, which provides unique online networking and career development tool for both young and senior practicing engineers to connect and share experiences with others, whether within their region or on the other side of the world. Civil Engineer Paul Olukoye contacted Ray. Paul is a native of Kenya, Africa, who graduated from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and has ten (10) years of experience. Paul has been an active member of ITE for over one (1) year.
The mentoring sessions were relaxed but structured over a 6-month duration with a 1-hour virtual session via Zoom over the period August 2020 – January 2021. Each session encompassed discussions centered around a subject matter as selected by the mentee. It was a rewarding experience for both the mentor Ray McKenzie and mentee Paul Olukoye who has committed to staying in touch.
